What is the difference between Manual Scan and Continuous Scan?

S4E provides two different scan modes to adapt to your security workflow: Manual Scan and Continuous Scan.

• Manual Scan

  Manual scans are initiated directly by the user. You can go to the scan repository, select a specific tool, and start the scan immediately. This option is ideal when you want to test a particular issue, validate a fix, or run a specific scan on demand.

• Continuous Scan

  Continuous scans are automatically scheduled and executed by the S4E platform. Our system analyzes each asset's characteristics and dynamically determines when and how often it should be scanned. This mode ensures ongoing protection by continuously monitoring for new vulnerabilities—without requiring user action.
